- Mutianyu– The most popular section of the Great Wall is the Mutianyu. There is a possibility that if you type “Great Wall” on Google, you will find the images of Mutianyu in the image search section. Having 26 watchtowers makes the section impressive and marvelous. You can actually hike from Mutianyu all the way west to Huanghua and the front of the Jiankou. It is the best section to travel with children and the elderly members of your family. The section is popular for sightseeing and Hiking.
- Jinshanling– Another most popular section of the Great Wall is the Jinshanling. It is suggested to the visitors who have a dearth of time to visit this section first and that would be enough. It takes a day’s time to hike this section of the wall. This section stretches over 10km having the most beautiful sights of China in the way. Visit this section in the shoulder season i.e. March or November as you will find fewer crowds there at this time.
- Jiankou– For the most stupefying hikes, you must visit this section of the Great Wall. You won’t be able to forget the tantalizing views that come in your way. This section hasn’t been well restored and this means that you will find the ancient reigns in this section of the wall. Popular for serious photography and hiking, this section makes the most dilapidated section of the Great Wall. It takes a day’s time to hike this section of the wall.
- Huanghuacheng– It is one of the unique sections of the Great Wall. It is not like the other sections of the wall; the lake scenery and the mixture of original watchtowers and restored battlements make it one of the best sections of the Great Wall. Visit this section during the spring season and walk over the carpet of yellow wildflowers. This section is beautifully blessed but it is one of the least visited sections of the wall.
- Simatai– “Peaceful” is the right word to depict this section of the Great Wall. Known for its semi-ruined architecture and beauty, this section is the most majestic sections of the Great Wall. Simatai has some dramatic scenery for the best photography and it is heart-thumpingly steep in nature. The climb is much safer than Jiankou.
